Bio

I have a BA in English and Linguistics, MEd in Bilingual Education, and PhD in Educational Psychology (Educational Research) all from Texas A&M University.  I taught language arts/ESL in public schools in Texas.  I worked at Texas A&M’s Department of Educational Psychology – Bilingual Education Program as a staff member on their funded grant projects, where one of my responsibilities was copyediting papers, proposals, and grant reports.  After graduating with my doctorate, I worked as a professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at Houston Baptist University from 2013-2021.  As a professor there, I served on doctoral dissertation committees in educational leadership and on master’s theses committees in psychology.  I also served as co-editor of the English in Texas language arts education journal from 2020-2023.  In 2022, I started Letters & Science LLC.   I provide a number of services, including professional development in language and literacy acquisition, grant program evaluation services, academic editing, and literacy/ESL tutoring.  I have edited grant proposals, research reports, journal articles, and dissertations.  Ever the language arts teacher, I love helping authors polish their documents so that their work is the best it can possibly be.
